Concluded an agency contract with Canon Marketing Japan Inc.
- Sales of Canon CMOS sensors begin -

We have signed a distributorship agreement with Canon Marketing Japan Inc. (President and CEO: Masachika Adachi, Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as Canon Marketing Japan). We will begin selling Canon CMOS sensor products provided by the company.

The demand for surveillance cameras, industrial robots, infrastructure inspection cameras for monitoring the quality of manufacturing lines (for scratches, etc.) and deterioration of equipment, wearable cameras, etc. is on the rise, and there is a growing need for image sensors that can capture high-quality images even in situations with large differences in light and dark. Furthermore, surveillance camera systems and the like require image sensors that are compact, simple, lightweight, and consume less power.

Canon's CMOS sensors have multiple pixels, ultra-high sensitivity, and HDR capabilities, and are characterized by their ability to capture clear, beautiful images even in dark places.

[Features of Canon CMOS sensors]
1. Multi-pixel compatibility
The 250-megapixel sensor achieves a resolution 125 times that of full HD, making it possible to capture distant subjects in high definition using only electronic zoom. It also makes it possible to read out only the area of interest at high speed.

sensor

◆ Anticipated uses: Inspection of displays and parts, wide-area surveillance for urban areas and ships, and rescue at sea, medical and chemical microscopes, etc.

2. Ultra-high sensitivity
Sensitivity in the near-infrared region has been improved, making it possible to capture unevenness up to 20 to 30 meters ahead, while also enabling simultaneous capture of images at ultra-high sensitivity and high speed.

sensor

◆ Anticipated uses: Monitoring of natural disasters, surveillance of important facilities such as airports and harbors, observation of wildlife ecology, disaster prevention and crime prevention surveillance, etc.

3. HDR support
It is possible to capture high quality images even in situations with high contrast, and achieve a wide dynamic range while achieving low noise.

sensor

◆ Expected applications: Security cameras in environments with extreme differences in light and dark, wearable cameras, cameras for dashcams, drones, etc.
